I spent 4 months in Africa in 1994 traveling overland from Nairobi, Kenya to Bamako, Mali. It was here in Zaire (now the Republic of the Congo) that I encountered a troupe of silverback gorillas.

My passport was stolen in Ouagadougou, and I am now one of about 10 total U.S. citizens owning a U.S. passport issued in Burkina Faso. Unfortunately, it doesn't come up much in normal conversation.

The Egypt visit was part of my honeymoon. Jeff and I spent 2 1/2 weeks in Greece and then headed over to Egypt for a few days before going home. My friend, Grisel, put together some awesome webpages on her trip to Egypt. Check them out here.
